Erna is a versatile and accomplished multi-instrumentalist (cello, violin, voice, piano) and music educator residing in Toronto. A graduate of the prestigious Latvian Music Academy and Emīls Dārziņš High School, Erna brings years of performance expertise and academic experience to her teaching. Regularly performing over 100 events annually across numerous countries, both as a solo artist and with ensembles, Erna understands the diverse needs of musicians at every level. Her compositions with cello and voice are often played on various radio and TV streaming services worldwide.
She is known for her genre-fluid style, blending epic, ethnic, pop, folk, and new-age elements to create captivating performances, as well as playing well-known classical pieces. Erna connects with audiences through her power, drive, and ability to combine technology with acoustic instruments, incorporating loop stations and various digital and analog effects into her performances. As a music educator, Erna specializes in cello, voice, piano, looping, and sound engineering instruction, with cello being her primary profession and the rest as secondary focuses. She emphasizes fostering technical excellence, creative expression, and an emotional connection to music.
