James

Guitar, Voice, Theory, Composition

 James is a Toronto based guitarist and singer. He has an applied music diploma from Mohawk College, where he studied classical guitar. He continued his studies in classical guitar performance at the University of Toronto. After his classical studies, James turned his interest toward bluegrass and country music, and began developing himself as a vocalist. He recently formed The Don Valley Drifters, a bluegrass group in which he sings lead and plays guitar.


 As an educator, James believes in developing an individual plan for each student's unique situation. He aims to develop a strong technical foundation in each student, but always is focused on applying technique to musical situations. James has extensive knowledge in many genres including bluegrass, country, blues, rock, jazz and classical. He is also teaches beginner to intermediate voice, theory and composition.
