Regan

Drums

Regan is a Toronto-based jazz drummer, improviser and composer. Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, she developed a love for Latin jazz early on, playing with local Cuban musicians who helped shape her musical foundation. Regan recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from the University of Toronto, where she continued to explore new ideas and refine her skills. She studied at U of T with Nick Fraser, Ethan Ardelli, and Ernesto Cervini, whose mentorship has played a pivotal role in her musical journey.

Throughout her career, Regan has had the opportunity to perform in many different settings, from big bands to smaller ensembles, and she values the learning experiences that each brings. Regan has developed a deep love for avant-garde and free-improvised music in recent years. She is passionate about exploring the boundaries of creativity and finding ways to put her voice into the music. Drawing from the rich traditions of jazz while pushing into new territories, she believes in the power of spontaneous expression and the importance of staying open to the moment. For Regan, performing is about connecting with the music personally while remaining rooted in one's inspirations.
