Svitlana
Harp
Svitlana is a Ukrainian harpist and music educator based in Toronto, Canada. Her musical journey began at the age of 10 with the bandura, a traditional Ukrainian instrument combining instrumental and vocal performance. She later studied at the Ukrainian Academy of Music, earning her Master’s degree and expanding her training to include classical harp. During her studies, she performed as a solo harpist, with orchestras, and in various ensembles.
After completing her Master’s degree, Svitlana spent five years performing harp at weddings and events across India, as well as in Cyprus and Turkey. Alongside her performing career, she taught harp to both children and adults.
Svitlana’s teaching combines a strong foundation in classical technique with a love for popular music. She enjoys helping students develop solid musical skills while also learning songs they love and connecting with their own musical expression.
She welcomes students of all ages and backgrounds, especially beginners and intermediate learners. Her goal is to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment where students can build confidence, develop their technique, and discover the joy of playing the harp.
