Piano, Saxophone, Music Theory

William is an accomplished music educator with more than three decades of experience teaching piano to students ranging in age from five to ninety. His expertise extends beyond piano to include alto saxophone and music theory, which he has taught from beginner levels through to university-level studies. Under William’s guidance, students have consistently achieved exceptional results, earning grades ranging from First Class Honours with Distinction to Honours in piano, alto saxophone, and theory examinations. Several of his students have also attained the highest mark in Ontario on Royal Conservatory of Music piano exams—a testament to his dedication and instructional excellence.

William takes great care in tailoring lesson plans to meet the individual needs, goals, and learning styles of each student, ensuring that every learner is supported in reaching their full musical potential. He has successfully prepared students for music auditions for universities and arts-focused schools, and he has experience writing and arranging music for various ensembles.

In addition to his private music instruction, William is a certified teacher in the public school system and has worked in the City of Toronto for the past twenty-four years. He has taught primary and junior students across a wide range of subjects, including Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, Dance, Drama, and Computers. His extensive classroom experience has given him a deep understanding of diverse teaching and learning styles. William also serves as the director of an adult choir.

With every student he teaches, William is committed to fostering growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
